Recent News!

The 2019 Senior Masters is now in the books. We had 63 bowlers in this years event April 28th at Strikes Unlimited in Rocklin with each bowler completed 5 games of qualifying. After this round, the top 12 continued in single elimination match play of 2 games.

Jeff O’Conner was the top seed after qualifying with a 1180 for 5 games and low to qualify was Della Kallenback with 1080. The afternoon was filled with lots of great matches including in the semi finals match of Jeff O’Conner and Joe McGann, coming down to the final frame with McGann coming out on top 522-512!

However, that win put Joe “Big Game” McGann in a match with Mr. Consistent, Mike Norton. Yet another match that came down to shot making and adjustments as both battled with carry issues but saw Mike Norton come out on top 453-371, winning his first Senior Masters claiming the $1000 first prize and trophy.

Also congratulations to James Seale Sr. with his 300 game on the last game of qualifying! And to Curt Lehner as the highest Super Senior that didn’t qualify finishing 13th with 1079.

We just completed our 2019 GSA Masters Open April 6th and 7th at Strikes Unlimited in Rocklin Ca. We had a nice turn out with 50 bowlers that each bowled 6 games on Saturday with the Top 16 returning on Sunday for the 3 game match play single elimination round.

After day one, it took a total of 1215 to make the cut after 6 games. Andy Udahl was sitting on top with 1394 over the 6 games, averaging 232. Sunday was filled with some tough matches, getting to the final two bowlers.

This years top woman bowler honors goes to Heather Dettrey making it to the Final Four before loosing to PJ Haggerty, who then went on to face Robbie Porter for the Championship Match.

Like last years Masters Championship, PJ Haggerty rolled games of 205-279-245 for 723 against Robbie Porters games of 223-221-239 and 683 to claim the trophy and cash prize of $1,500.

It was an excited event with filled some good bowling and even better sportsmanship. Congrats to all and we appreciate your support of this years tournament. Please see our Facebook page GSA USBC for more events and fun facts.
